Rick Palidwor
Artist member since 2020
ProToronto, Ontario
After completing a masters degree in sociology at York University Rick Palidwor was a member of the comedy troupe Trouser Park, appearing frequently on CBC Radio from the late 1980's to mid 1990's. He next went to Cable 10 community TV in Parkdale where he created two award winning sketch comedy collections. Over the next twenty-five years Rick made dozens of music videos, short comedies, documentaries and experimental films, including the feature film Sleep Always. He became known as a super-8 film aficionado and taught super-8 at Hart House (U of T), York U and LIFT for many years, as well as filmmaking in general at George Brown College.
In 2017 Rick began painting with acrylic and he is loving the artistic freedom this brings. Whereas filmmaking is so heavy in logistics - people, places, things - he can now create by himself, at home, whenever he wants.
